Pompanos or Cambridge Beaches??

Driving myself crazy trying to decide between Pompanos and Cambridge Beaches. I will visiting Bermuda the end of July for a long weekend and would love something low key with a good pool, nice beach and good rooms. Any votes out there???

Have not been to Pompanos, but I loved Cambridge Beaches. Lovely grounds, peaceful (in September), three small beaches, indoor and outdoor pools in nice settings. Our room was comfortable with a great view, but not fancy. Excellet food, great service. Take a scooter out to the Dockyard, or water taxi to Hamilton.

I am staying at Pompano in 3 weeks in one of their new buildings - Fying Fish. I have heard great things about this resort.

I've seen a lot of negative posts regarding Cambridge Beaches - I have looked around there, but never stayed. I have been to Bermuda a dozen times and our favourite resort is Pompano. The setting is absolutely breathtaking, the staff and especially the owners are extremely friendly and the rooms have all been renovated and are very nice. The pool is small, but always clean. The beach is small, but the oceanfront makes up for it. During low-tide, you can walk out a few hundred feet, still waist-deep in crystal clear, calm water. We love Pompano and always cannot wait to go back.

Wow, sp, what have you heard about Cambridge Beaches? I hope it hasn't gone downhill. We absolutely loved it 8 years ago! Where have you read negative reviews?

Dreamer2 - the comments were on trip advisor - things like run-down rooms to very bad service. One thing that surprised me was that on long weekends, the locals would dock their boats nearby and use the beaches. I was tempted to stay their once (before all these negative comments) because of it's grounds and being close to Dockyard, but not now.

Do not listen to all the bad posts..some are just very picky people...I read some bad posts but went for my honeymoon 2 yrs ago...Loved it..Its more upscale then pompano..Better beaches, and in most peoples opinion, better food...

I vote for Pompano ! We are heading there in a few weeks. We went two years ago and can't wait to go back. I think they have the prettiest beach on the island. They also lots of great beach "toys" !
