Questions before we take off for Beaches Negril

Our family leaves for Beaches Negril next week--we've done cruises but never Caribbean destinations. Any last minute tips from those of you who have been to Beaches Negril? Are there ATM's readily available or should we do traveler's checks...credit cards...what? Dumb question, but do we need to take beach toys (floats, sand buckets, etc.)? It's the little questions that can drive you crazy...

I'm sure Beaches will take credit cards for anything you haven't prepaid. If you leave the resort (and you should), you will want cash, preferably JA$ but US$ is widely accepted also. We use our ATM cards wit hno problem but I've heard some people report that they could not - check with your bank, sometimes they automatically lock non-US transactions.

We leave for Negril next Tuesday - we will be at Nirvana on the beach with our 2 kids - maybe we'll run into you

Liz

I stayed at Beaches this past Feb. You definately won't need very much money, unless you want to do some tours, jet skiing, parasailing etc. It is a wonderful resort you will have a great time. The beach itself is wonderful (really wide - while we were there we visited Sandals Negril and Beaches Inn and thought Beaches Negril's beach was the best) and there is plenty of watersports which are included: aqua cycles, kayaks, waterskiing, pettleboats (sp?), banana boating etc. You might want to bring sand toys if your kids are younger. Have fun!! If you have any more questions just e-mail me directly and I will be more than happy to answer them.
Cheryl

I did work for Beaches in Negril and have been there several times. I love it. I have visited all of Sandals properties and will say, absolutely without question, that Beaches Negril is the BEST property. It is the only property that I would spend my own money to stay in. First of all, you won't need much money and you certainly do not have to convert US dollars to Jamaican dollars. Everyone accepts US dollars everywhere and goods are priced in US dollars in probably every store you will go in anyway. They have great programs for children and they will really enjoy themselves. Definitely go upstairs to sing with the piano player at night. He is wonderful and I promise you that you will enjoy it. You won't need to bring anything for the kids because Beaches has lots of beach supplies. I have been to Beaches Negril many times and if you have any questions please email me. Enjoy!
