room question about Grace Bay Club
I made a reservation through American Express at Grace Bay Club for this weekend. I asked them to place me in the adults only hotel area, and the reservation instead is at the Villas, where the rooms are much smaller. Now they say they're full and no upgrade is available unless I want to pay nearly $1000 a night for a one bedroom Grace Bay suite.
Unfortunately, the reservation has a no cancellation policy. I could have stayed at the Somerset for the same amount of money and a huge suite.
Anyway, it's too late now, but can anyone tell me about the differences between the Grace Bay villas and the hotel portion? Are the rooms still very nice? Are the views at least better?
Thank you so much for any help,
Teresa

The rooms have the same look to them-same type furniture. The biggest difference is the adult building (The original Grace Bay Club) doesn't allow children under 12, including a small pool area they have, and Anocoana the restuarant. The villas side allows the children, and the pool and restuarant on that side. They are side by side of each other. Views are the same, again, they are right next to each other. It's a very nice resort, you'll have a nice time. It is one of the most expensive resorts (Only Amanyara and Parrot Cay really beat it). Check out Somerset for the next time! ;-)

This is why I'm so upset! My daughter wanted to stay at the Somerset, which was cheaper, and I talked her out of it, insisting Grace Bay Club would be better. ARgh!
At least I know the beach will be gorgeous. I'm leaving in 2 days!

We have viewed the suites at Grace Bay Club. They are nice, but all look like one another. The pool area and beach are nice.
The Somerset on the other hand is very nice with it's own high end appeal. Just another option and the suites are to die for. Loved our stay!

Although all but Turks & Caicos Club are condo-hotels, I quite like the Grace Bay decor because it's consistent and elegant. I don't like feeling like I'm staying in someone's condo (and the Somerset's rooms are gorgeous, but the decor various and not for everyone. Some are very "girlie" in my opinion. Grace Bay Club's decor is more neutral. They are both nice, tho.
