Sandals?
I have just booked a honeymoon to Sandals and after reading the reviews, I feel people have mixed oponions.
We are travelling from the UK, and are looking for somewhere on an idealic beach, good food, some entertainment and good watersports. Are we going to the right place?

Hi Michelle, I believe it truly depends on what type of crowd you and your new hubby will like to be with. My research (and you can do a text search for more info, there certainly is alot here on the subject) found that Sandals was just too much of a party-type atmosphere which alot of people love, it just wasn't for us. We're not "joiners" and prefer privacy, we found the Grand Lido Negril to be a more mature (not boring) but a more private crowd and it sounded more to our liking. I think any of the all inclusives would be nice in Negril, I think it depends on what you and your guy prefer. The research at this forum provided us with alot of information, info that we found very useful. The only negative thing I found on the Grand Lido was one person that found it to be too stuffy and a bit snob-like. In my opinion, if people relaxing and hanging out alone, respecting each other's privacy is snob-like and stuffy, then I guess I am a vacation snob, ha.
Best of luck to you, and remember to do a text search to find which resort is best for the two of you!

My husband and I honeymooned at Sandals Negril in August 2001. It was wonderful. I did not find this resort to be a party atmosphere..it was quite and very relaxing. Spent a few hours every morning..just floating in the carribean on a raft. It was perfect.

Sandals Ocho Rios was magnificent, clean, and the staff was great. It was well kept up and was a secluded getaway. It was always relaxing and never got harassed to "join in". Definately a couple type resort. But if you want a little more lively action the Beaches Grande Sport Beach is 50 yds down the road. Alot more action on the beach there and it is free to transfer there is you are staying at SOR.
