St. John villas for two

We are looking for a nice villa for 2 for a week/10days in February/March that would be on a beautiful beach or at least close to a beautiful beach.

Can anyone help with places?

There are scores of rental villas on St. John but precious few of them will be beachfront. Do a google seach using tpoics like "Villa Rentals, St. John, USVI" and you'll ind links to just about every villa on the island. After reading descrptions and amenities you should be able to narrow your choices to a few that are most appealing to you. You can then post a question on this forum to get first hand comments.

BrianM,
Here some pictures I took of the place that I mentioned. The photos on Terry's site are not the best.

BrianM,
Check out this place.
http://www.windspree.com/homes/lilleparadis/

It's very close to a cobblestone beach that's great for diving, snorkeling and sunning and it's very secluded (both beach and villa) Also it's located on the southeastern side so it gets great sun exposure all day even in Feb/Mar.

Brian,
I'm not sure. I don't remember seeing one. We ate most dinners out. E-mail or call Terry.

Our first choice was Honeymoon cottage but it was booked. We have reservations at Island Dreams. We booked it through the owners bookitvi.com who were very helpful on the phone. It looks terrific and even has a small pool. We are going in January so I won't be able to let you know how we liked it.

Take a look at one of the two Gibney Beach cottages. They are on the North Shore, close to town, beach front. Gibney is not known to tourists, but it is a tropical paradise. Just google for St John Villas, Gibney Beach

Evelyn, the folks at bookitvi are terrific! It's owned by the Dove family who have a bunch of businesses on island (daughter Christy has great little shops in Coral Bay across the plaza afrom Lily's and Aqua Bistro; "Chilly BIlly" of restaurant fame is the dad, tho' he's sold the restuarant while keeping the name).
Their selected villa listings are incredible! I love the Coral Bay side of St John. Thanks for referring us all to their site, which is also a great place to book activities.

Brian, do you want a pool in the villa? Personally, if I traveled without little kids. I would definitely prefer a pool at the villa for a dip on those balmy star-filled nights. Most of the beaches are not a good place at night--too many noseeums.

Hols, great rec for Gibney!! One of St J's best beaches--the creme de la creme

Check out "Over the Rainbow" listed at on-island agency www.caribbeanvilla.com.
Has pool; close (walking distance) to a quiet beach.
(I've been researching for next yr's trip too!)

Note that some of the beautiful beaches on St John are rocky or pebbley. If you prefer soft white sand (I do) that's something else to consider when booking.
Also, StJ is small; many places are within an easy ten minute drive, if not walk, to a beach.

Just came across this thread. Can anyone tell me the price they paid for Honeymoon Cottage? I am looking for October, so it would be off season. Is it a good location, near beach and an easy drive?

MSS.
We paid $200 a night low season. The cottage is a 5 minute walk from Francis Bay and a 5 minute drive from the Leinster Bay trail head. I loved the location. It is about a 20 minute drive to either Coral Bay or Cruz Bay. I really liked staying on the north shore. The close proximity of some of most beautiful beaches is hard to beat.

go to www.bookitvi.com for rentals. Tell them Cheryl from Chicago sent you. Check out their villas. They've never steered me wrong in 10 years!
