Wedding in Carribean- Jumby?
We are planning a small November/December wedding down in the islands. Originally we were planning on Cap Juluca but have since found out that for non-denominational weddings on Anguilla you actually have to get married at the courthouse. We'd like the actual cermony to take place on the beach.
Our original final three resorts for the wedding included Cap, Caneel Bay, and Jumby Bay. Jumby reservations was extremely helpful with quotes and planning. Wondering if anyone on the board has had experience with weddings at Jumby or elsewhere and can comment. Thanks!

Congrats on your forthcoming nuptials! I haven't vacationed at any of the places you're considering, but I was married last year at a small hotel on Antigua. If you're considering Jumby, I would assume that the procedure would be the same or similar to mine. My fiance and I arrived ANU on a Wednesday, spent that day relaxing from our travels and getting on island time. On Thursday we went into St. John's to fill out our marriage license, forms, and to pay fees. There were about 5 couples ahead of us in line and the process, including waiting time, took just over an hour. However, we did have to leave our passports behind with the paperwork, to be picked up the next day. We went back to St. John's on Friday, picked up everything, and were all set. We got married on Saturday on the beach at sunset. My advice to you is to arrive on island at least two days before you wish to get married, just to make sure you have time to do everything. I think you've picked a wonderful way to celebrate the beginning of your life together. Getting married in the Caribbean is such a stress-free way to do it IF you feel comfortable relinquising a lot of control over details. My fiance and I were on the beach about two hours before the wedding, sipping rum punches. No worries, mon! If you have any other questions, please let me know.

I have some friends that were married last week at Antigua on the beach. They stayed at the Sandals. I saw the video. It was very nice, they said it was wonderful, and they were married on the beach. They were well pleased.

I have observed several weddings at Caneel with the ceremony directly on the beach. In addition, pictures are taken in fron of The Equator, an old sugar mill with its steps engulfed with red flowering boganvillia. It makes for an incredibly stunning setting.

Thanks all! Good tips on the paperwork process in Antigua. Didn't realise we would need to go back a 2nd time.
We've decided on Jumby Bay...largely because no one from Caneel ever got back in touch with us! Crazy.
Thanks again.
