I don't know what you're looking for, but I highly recommend a trip to Butchart Gardens in Victoria. We also enjoyed the museums (especially the amazing anthropology museum) and Japanese gardens at the University of BC in Vancouver.(It was 10 years ago, Ihope I have all the names correct). Sorry I can't help you with the night life...

I live close to Victoria but in the U.S. I will no longer go to Victoria as they have no satisfactory sewer treatment believing that the currents in the area are enough to disperse the sewage into the ocean. Can you imagine what would happen if this was a cruise ship?

Vancouver is a wonderful city with lots to do. Rent a bike and cycle around the seawall of Stanley Park. Robson street is great for shopping and people watching. Restaurants - Bishops is a local favourite for West Coast food. Lumiere is a wonderful French restaurant with a taster's menu. Expensive but amazing.

victoria is fun for the day.

Enjoy!

If you go to Victoria- plan an overnight- it is never a day trip for me. And I always take a car over, allows just much more freedom for travel.

Take a day trip or better yet an overniter to Whistler. Araxi or Quattros for dinner and Chateau Whistler lounge to hang out in. or In Victoria you must check out the Bengal Lounge in the Empress Hotel, indulge in the chocolate fondue. In Vancouver dine out at Provence in yaletown, or Joe Fortes off Robson Street(they have the most amazing roofdeck)or take a cab across the Lions gate Bridge to a french restaurant to die fore Regalade(2232 Marine Dr. 604-921-2228) No I don't have shares in the rest. but I have been there several times and everyone I have sent there rants and raves about it. Hang out in English bay and Yaletown. You'll love it.
