Book ideas for Antarctic, South America

Hi,
My in laws are off on a trip in the new year, they are going to Buenos Aires, Falkland Islands, South Georgia and Antarctica. I'm looking for some Christmas present ideas, I've bought them some thermal socks, but as they have travelled a lot they don't need any other kit. I was thinking about a book covering the areas, as its a fully escorted tour I'm not sure a lonely planet guide is what's needed. I just wondered if anyone knew of a book that would add meaning or enhance their trip, perhaps fiction set in one or more of these places or a tail of an expedition. Any recommendations?

I highly recommend if they haven't read it The Endurance. Its Shackleton's expedition in Antarctica and is an excellent book. It gives a little more meaning to the area if they have read it prior to the cruise.

I know you can get it on Amazon and I am sure many other outlets.

"The Uttermost Part of the Earth" by Lucas Bridges, available on Amazon. We read it before going on a similar trip last year and it really made the history of the area real.

The Antarctica Log Book is a great gift. It provides great information on all of the places they will visit and all of the wildlife they will see. it also provides the latitude/longitude coordinates and has ample space to write about daily experiences. Cost ~ $25
I just returned from Antarctica....this is a great reference book. Unfortunately, I am not sure where to purchase in the United States. I picked up a copy in Ushuaia before embarkation.
