I recall from your earlier thread you are sailing on a Royal Caribbean Cruise Line ship. Check their website - they have a section devoted to what to pack. Also do an internet search for "What to pack for a Caribbean Cruise" and you'll find scores of links to websites and videos on the subject.

HINT #1: Most people overpack and bring too much. Follow the old adage: Take less clothes, bring more money. Seriously, for a 7 day cruise you should be able to pack everything you need in one standard 21" roll-aboard and a small personal size duffle bag or backpack. HINT #2: Here's a tip we learned long ago (especially true for women): About 4 or 5 days before your trip put all the clothes you think you'll need on a bed in a spare room. Admire them and complement yourself on your fine sense of fashion. Then put half of them back in the closet and pack the rest.

Thank you for your advice, RoamsAround!

I have been talked into a 7-night Caribbean cruise in January, truly the LAST thing I want to do but partner is eager. Gambling!!!!!! Lots of his Men'sClub friends.

So what..just bring shorts and t-shirts, bathing suit and a pair of decent black jeans for dinner with nice cotton or linen blouse?
I will probably spend my time alone, reading (upgraded to balcony room). Swimming if pool is not jammed. Walking around deck....

The destinations are uninteresting--a private beach in oe island, another private beach maybe in Caymans, and a stop in DR northncoast where I plant to just rent a taxi and go eat and meet a few locals....who knows..I like to talk!! The line is Princess.new ship...apparently HUGE!!

I forget the name of the ship but it is new and among the largest in the world, I think.....

Go to cruisecritic.com and look up your ship and the cruise you are on. You’ll find lots of useful information about all aspect of that particular cruise including what to do/see at the various ports of call and all about the amenities on board the ship. They even have a ROLL CALL section where you can get in touch with other passengers who will be on the same cruise.

Remember sun protection essentials (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, coverup) and some common meds like Tylenol, immodium, cough lozenges, etc.. Although you can get them on board they overcharge like crazy.

Yes bring your own OTC meds and sunscreen, a hat and shades.

though there are still “formal nights.” on Cruise lines you really don’t have to adhere to that. You can always choose to go to the buffet or just take a sports coat and a nice pair of pants. You don’t need to tie or suit or a tuxedo. I am continually amazed by what people wear for formal night and how they really are no restrictions on them. I think those days are gone.

As it will be warm, bring T-shirts and underwear and shorts. A few short sleeve shirts and polos would be fine. I think two pairs of shorts should be fine and you can always use the ships laundry

Be careful about pictures. There will be many pictures taken like when you get on the ship or disembark or whatever and you don’t have to buy them, but they do add up in cost if you do.

essentially just kick back and relax. Get a nice cold beer or one of those drinks with fruit and an umbrella in it and enjoy yourself!

Depending on what line you are on, assuming your partner is male, have him bring at least one collared shirt and decent slacks just in case the line has a dress code on "dressy nights" It should be described under "dress code" on their website.

Although there may be no dress code in the buffet sometimes you miss out on special menu items that are only served once per cruise during whatever passes for dress up night these days.
