cruising in the Marquesas
Anyone out there know about cruising conditions in April for a 14 day Paul Gauguin cruise from Papeete to the Marquesas and back? I know the trip involves open seas. And,if you know some resources I can use, that would be great too! Thanks so much for your help.

Have you looked on the Regent Cruise Critic board? Also, LuxuryCruiseTalk.com. Both have many posts about PG cruises and some will involve the 14-day cruises to the Marquesas if you use their search tools. We've spent 24 days on the PG, but have never cruises to the Marquesas.

Thank you Dreps for your response.I have looked on those web sites and noone, as far as I can tell, really discusses the Marquesas and what that cruise is like. The fact that the cruise is given only 2 times a year may play a role. Thanks again.

You should also post a message on www.tahiti-explorer.com (click on Faq and Advice and go in their cruise forum). There are also some local people on the forum who may be able to help you. Let us know when you return; I'm looking at that cruise for next year. I did the 7 day cruise in 2006. It's a great ship.

I went back onto LuxuryCruiseTalk.com and looked under Travelogues and Cruise Reviews. On the third page of the list of reviews, I found one by Susan Walsh, who is actually one of the agents at Brown & Keene. She is really excellent and posted an extensive review of her voyage to the Marquesas on January 2, 2006.
