16 days in France and Piemonte October 2017
We fly into Lyon at the end of September for a 16 day road trip. The only part that is set in stone is the rental car and the last 2 nights before returning to the U.S. (in Lyon). I have a ton of books and have been looking on line for ideas. We would welcome any ideas or suggestions.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Likewise for France. You need to decide how much time you want to spend in each country, for starters, and where you will rent and return the car. If you rent in one country and return in another, there is a significant additional cost.

If you have not been to southern France before then I'd suggest:
Lyon
Avignon area -so much to see and do here - nice short drives to many neat places - Arles -Pont du Gard - Uzes- Les-Baux-de-Provence - St Remy-de-Provence (smaller town many love to base in)
then drive over to Aix-en-Provence and then take the inland route to the Cote d'Azur -going by the Grand Canyon du Verdun and then the Route Napoleon - road created for military purposes that ends in Grasse and the Cannes area.
Then into Piedmont via Sosepl and Turin (neat big city) and go up the valley to Mont Blanc Tunnel -Chamonix an awesome Alpine resort - back to Lyon via Annecy.
Tailor to interests but a wonderful loop IMO
