6 cities in 19 days???
Hi
Plan to fly to Paris end of may for 4 days, would like to take a train to Zurich 3 days, would stay in Murren or Lake Lucerne, my dilemma is do I go further east to Munich for 3 days and take a day trip to Sandburg and Innsbruck or take a train form Zurich to MIlan (4days) and skip Munich for later trip. we would fly out from Barcelona, If I skip Munich than contemplating Cirque Terre or Sicily for 4 days..???
I excluded 2 days of flying time, since its a 3 weeks trip. let me know...

IMHO 6 cities in 19 days won;t work. You would need to allow 5 days for travel between cities (even if you have a full 19 days on the ground - not including arrival and departure days).
So that would be 6 cities in 14 days - or 2 1/3 days per city - OK for a smaller town - but IMHO you need at least 5 full days (6 nights) in Paris if you heven;t been there before.
And, I'm sorry - but I don;t now where Sandburg is. Could you mean Strasbourg? Or Salzberg?
You really need to look at a map and the train schedules at bahn.de to find out how much time you will be spending in transit.

Hi
City is Salzberg...been to Paris before, there for 4 days would be fine, 3-5 hours by train is taken into consideration, that's what I not sure to skip Munich, and go to Milan from Zurich...

I mostly agree w/ nyt.
>>I excluded 2 days of flying time, since its a 3 weeks trip. let me know...<<
But have you accounted for the other 4 to 4 days travel time in your itinerary?
Most of those transfers will only eat up nearly a whole day. When you figure checking out/ getting to the station or airport, the actual travel time, and then getting from the station or airport to you next hotel. Flights are faster --- but getting to the airport and advance check in takes a LOT of time. Trains are slower -- but are city center to city center.
In either case - most of a day is shot.

What are your interests? People who plan to stay 3 days a Zurich and 4 days at Milan must have very particular interests. As long as we don't know them, it's impossible to give you any useful advice.

From Milan and Zurich I got day trips planned now, I got option to go to Munich for 3-4 days than go to Milan. Does Munich fit in my trip If I got few days to fill in or stay in Italy and go to Cirque Teree from Milan.

Cinque Terre (you really need to check spellings to find accurate info) is a group of small villages carved out of cliffs with hiking paths in between. Is hiking important to your trip?
Is it mostly indoors or outdoors? castles? Churches? What activities?
All we have so far is a list of places.

"I know all about villages, mountains, castles and museums"
Wow! No wonder you are willing to plan a trip that seems, to those of us who have traveled extensively in the areas about which you inquire, so impossibly unpleasant.
Enjoy!
