Accommodation in Innsbruck..pls. HELP!!!
Dear all
Have been surfing on the net for accommodation in Innsbruck for our trip in summer. Have found the following hotels and couldn't decide which one we should stay. Please advise. Or do you have other recommendations (not more than 100 Euro per night per room)?
1. Hotel Alt-Pradl
2. Hotel Tautermann
3. Hotel Weisses Kreuz
4. Hotel Goldene Krone
5. Hotel Tourotel Breinossl.
MANY THANKS!!

YeungRita -- I can't tell you which hotel to stay in, but I can tell you that we stayed at the Tautermann a few years back, and we are still talking about the bathrooms, which were so tiny that you had to back in. It was very plain and it took more than the advertised 5 minutes to walk to the center of town.
I would recommend a hotel on the other side of the river. If I remember, the Weisses Kreuz was right in the center of the old part of town.
Good luck.

I stayed at the Weisses Kruez a few years ago. It was fine but had noisy stairs. Why are you going to Innsbruck? I would skip it and spend more time in Salzburg, Munich, Neuschwanstein, Rothenburg, Hallstatt, or Garmisch.

Hotels number 1 and 2 are not so conveniently located. #3 thru 5 are all fine. You might also look into the hotel Mondschein. Don't let the fact that it is a Best Western scare you away. It's a simple, quaint hotel just across the river from the old town and the service there is wonderful.

You might look into the Goldener Adler, affiliated with the Best WEstern chain, but that is just for making reservations. It is a VERY historical hotel,...Mozart stayed there, and right in the center of "Old Town". Has been renovated and apparently has one of the better restaurants in the city. The rates are pretty reasonable(AAA, senior , "best", etc, considering that it includes a FULL breakfast and all taxes. Reservations easy to make also, through BW, . The BW Mondeshein is across the river, and I understand is nice also, but has just a coffee shop and it's a row house, so might not have as many rooms "with a view".
WEll, I haven't stayed at either, but WILL be staying at the Goldener Adler in two weeks, end of April.

Not sure that you will still be checking but just in case .. a couple of years ago I stayed at the Schwarzer Adler hotel in Innsbruck. It was fabulous: gorgeous room with a view over the mountains and a monastery, very helpful staff and just a couple of minutes walk to the cathedral, golden roof etc. I think I paid just over 100 Euros a night but that was for a double room. Hope you have a great trip.
