You could try a search on Google, under the Images section.

These aren't photo stills but PBS offers a fantastic video and DVD series called "Visions of Italy: Northern and Southern Style." They can be purchased at the following website: http://safetransfer.invision.net/wli...tegory=11-1832

Both of these were filmed from a helicopter on gorgeous weather days in Italy and provide a unique overview and perspective. Every Italy lover should own a copy. It's a great way to see any area and region before you plan your visit.

Good hi-res imagery can be quite expensive.

Found a nice image of Venice here:

You can also search on that site for satellite imagery in Italy. There are some mosaics.

A beautiful coffee table book of mouth-watering photos is "Over Europe" published by Weldon Owen. I bought my copy in Borders. You might check whether they have published others concentrating on a particular country.

The phone number is 415-291-0100.

KCET public television aired a wonderful, magnificent two-part video film series flying over Italy, shown in two segments: northern Italy and southern Italy. I saw it last year on KOCE (Orange County/Los Angeles' local public television station affiliate) and contacted the station via their website. The two videos are available for $90 each or $150 together and are a tax-deduction. These were the most awesome shots of Italy that I could ever imagine -- all taken from the air -- absolutely beautiful. I am going to buy both the videos as a birthday present to myself this year!

Barnes & Noble publishes this wonderful coffee-table book called Italy from the Air. Check with your local B&N.

The paperback version of Over Europe was available in the bargains section of my local Borders this weekend for $9.99. I thumbed through it and the photos were gorgeous.

The videos Huitres speaks of I believe are the "Visions of Italy" series (Northern and Southern). They periodically are on public television.
