Air Canada to Lufthansa with 1:25 hrs between flights in Munich

We are arriving in Munich via Air Canada at 10:00 AM and our flight to Venice via Lufthansa is at 11:25 AM..how worried should we be that we won't make the connecting flight??? Do we have to go through baggage security as well as Passport security???
comforting thoughts needed!

We had a flight from Miami through Munich to Rome a few years ago. Our flight left here an hour late and I was sooo freaked out the entire flight about our connection. We had 20 minutes to make our connection. We ran through the airport like insane people with our 2 kids, carryons, and winter gear. We did go through passport control and security, but did not have to get our luggage. We arrived at the gate which was at the far end of the terminal as the flight was boarding and my then 8 year old threw up on the jet way! Not only did we make the flight, so did our luggage! In Rome we were surprised when our baggage greeted us after our crazy travel day!

Here's some info on connecting in Munich:
http://www.munich-airport.de/en/cons...time/index.jsp

Minimum connecting time (without running) within Terminal 2 is 30 minutes.
Baggage also makes guaranteed connections in that time.

When your plane lands on time, you have nothing to worry about but how you will kill almost an hour at the gate (there are cafes and eateries).

Just one caveat:
Most flights to Italy depart from gates one level below where the most/rest of the G gates for the other Schengen destinations are located. Just keep an eye on the signs after you went through security and are on the general G gates level. And double-check your departure gate once you arrived in Munich.

Rosieg, please come back and let us know how your connection went. I can't believe that Munich touts at 30 minute connection time for international flights. If that actually works, I'll try flying through Munich!

I am also connecting in Munich to Sarajevo on LH. There is one hour connecting time which is legal, but checking the AC flights to Munich the majority of times it is late departing and arriving. There are not a lot of flights to Sarajevo from Munich and the next flight is late in afternoon with a connection in Cologne. I am keeping my fingers crossed AC flight is on time. In the meantime I have asked my travel agent to put a "Meet and Assist" on file to make the connection faster if necessary. I will check suitcase directly to Sarajevo, or I might manage a carry-on only.

Munich is a particularly efficient airport, and I have made one hour connections there easily. The only worrisome aspect is a delayed incoming flight, but that is out of your control. Odds are that an hour and a half will be plenty of time. However, I wouldn't necessarily be as optimistic about all airports.

You can look up your flight by airline and number on FlightAware and find out its ontime record.

As UNCalum says, it is a very efficient airport, and Tarheel Alumni are well informed!

As UNCalum said, the on-time arrival is not within your control.
But connecting to Sarejevo will be even faster as to Venice as you won't have to go through passport control.
I know that this may sound odd to people who need to get to their airports 2-3 hrs before departure. But 30 minutes is really all it takes to change gates within Terminal 2, with or without passport control.
