I have an 8:45 flight out of Leonardo DaVinci. I want to stay at an airport hotel. Any suggestions?

We used points to stay at the Hilton a few weeks ago. In the morning you just walk in the covered bridge to the airport, no muss and no fuss.

Are you sure you want to give up a last dinner and evening in Rome? For the price of the Airport Hilton, you can book a hotel in Rome, have a great dinner and hire a limousine to get you to Fiumicino in the morning.

we had several 7am flights and still stayed in the heart of the city, to enjoy every last second. IF that interets you, it really is easy to do.

You can stay at the airport Hilton and still have dinner in Rome. We have stayed there a number of times for early flights and it's great. Nice breakfast that starts at 5:30 AM. We don't stay up too late the night before an early flight anyway. I prefer a great shower, repack and organize and relax a bit.

The airport Hilton Garden Inn would be a bit cheaper than the Hilton.

I agreee that it is much nicer to stay in the city center or go in for dinner. However, I am flying in at 7pm so I really dont think that going into Rome makes a huge amount of sense. I love Rome and was last there in June so if my plans change, I will obviously take your advice. The garden hilton looks fairly good- thanks for the suggestion.

The Hilton is one of the most convenient airport hotels imaginable. Simply walk through the covered walkway, wheeling your luggage, and voila! You're in the main terminal.

Rooms are comfortable and the breakfast choice is excellent. Peace of Mind knowing you don't have to worry about hassles and traffic jams...just unwind. Have a nice trip.

I would not leave the city of Rome to go to the Hilton for the last night but I would not go through all the hassle of going into the city to a hotel if I arrived at the airport late.

This last trip we arrived back to Rome from the north in the late evening and just checked into the Hilton for the early morning flight.

But, travelbunny, I think we are the same people who always disagree on this Hilton, it is like a reunion when one of these questions comes up. We agree to disagree on this.

I have now stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn twice in the last 6 months. It is MUCH cheaper than the older Hilton hotel at the airport. I found it very convenient, clean (it is brand new!!) and service staff nice and very friendly.

We returned our rental car at the airport, walked over to the older Hilton hotel and waited for the shuttle which goes between the two hotels every 30 minutes. When we checked in we requested a shuttle from the Garden Inn to the airport terminal for the following morning. They asked what time, we told them, they put us on the list, and all went according to plan.

I should say too, that with the points we were on the Executive Floor which had a free buffet snack dinner and free breakfast.

A search here turns up the Hilton and the Hilton Garden hotel recommended for those needing to stay at Fiumicino overnight. Unfortunately both of these are in the $250-$350 per night range for May, which is when we need it. Any other suggestions for less expensive places near Fiumicino?

For what it's worth, this is for an arrival at 10 PM. Our companions arrive the following day at noon and we're renting a car at the airport and going north, so there's not really time or desire to go into Rome.

We always stay at the same hotel for early morning flights out of FCO- La Posta Vecchia in Ladispoli. A great way to wind up a trip. It's along the sea, has a great restaurant, beautiful grounds, very private and romantic, a large terrace with lounge chairs overlooking the sea, just a wonderful place to enjoy the last night of a great trip!

I'd request a seaview room. I love to sleep with the windows open and hear the sea lapping against the hotel. I would specifically request that you're not on the top floor. We had a suite one year on the top floor and although the room was extremely large and it has dormer windows that makes it much harder to enjoy the seaview.

LoriS, if you're responding to my question and not that of the OP, thanks, but this Relais & Chateaux hotel, lovely as it is, is quite a bit more expensive than the Hilton Garden Inn.

Just looking for a clean, not depressing place to fall into bed after an 18 hour, 2 transfers flight from the West Coast. Then we hit the road in the morning, so no need for many amenities, other than a shuttle from and back to the airport.

Anyone know anything about the Hotel Club Isola Sacra? Looks decent on venere.com.

I have stayed at the Hotel Roma in the town of Fiumicino. This was about 4 years ago and the hotel has shuttle service. At that time the hotel Roma was a lot cheaper than the Hilton and very convenient for what we needed and for your use.

Would you believe that the Hotel Roma is asking 244 Euros per night in May? Guess I'll keep looking, as we'd like to keep it under 130 Euros if possible.

friends have stayed at the Hotel Mach near the airport. It has a shuttle. They liked it and we met them there in the parking lot the next morning, it looks fine from the outside, nothing fancy.

I don't know anything about it personally, but I seem to recall the Courtyard by Marriott near FCO being recommended, and it has a shuttle. I like Marriot hotels well enough, so maybe that would work.

..just an update. I reserved at the "regular" Hilton because of proximity. I admit that I am paying more than I like but hae booked for 180 euro all incl. Thanks everyone

I wonder where you found the 180 rate at the Hilton. Online at the Hilton website, the cheapest I'm finding is 240 and that is pay in advance.

Can you help me?
