Am I able to get an early hydrofoil from Amalfi to Capri late Sept/early Oct?

Since it's off season all the websites I'm looking at say no service. Providing they run from Amalfi to Capri...how early do they start at that time of year? How long is the trip? If no hydrofoils, how early do the ferry's start and the length of time for them?

I'm trying to determine my length of stay on Capri and if I can get there early in the morning it will make a difference.

Thank you.

Not sure of schedule, but be advised that even scheduled Hydrofoil service is frequently cancelled if the seas are up.

There are no ships or regular ferries from Amalfi to Capri. All the services are by relatively small fast craft and, as Longboatkey says, they are very dependent on weather conditions. There are various companies running the services and schedules change from week to week. Nobody (not even the boat owners) could give you a guaranteed schedule.

I've read about the service problems due to rough waters. So how do people with hotel reservations on Capri get there if the weather is bad?

The two year-round services to Capri are from Napoli and Sorrento. On the Napoli-Capri route, there are car ferries which can run in almost any weather. There are commuters who live on Capri and travel across to the mainland to work every day. Boats from Amalfi and other ports are seasonal and more likely to cancelled.

Hi TF - In normal weather conditions the earliest hydrofoil from Amalfi to Capri leaves at 08.25. Journey time is approx 1hr 30'

If services from Amalfi are cancelled it would be easiest to catch the bus to Sorrento (1hr 30') and ferry from there.
