Any Brandnew or Recently Renovated Hotels in Rome

I was just wondering if anyone knows of any new hotels available that have just recently opened or will be opening shortly. Or hotels that have finished extensive renovations? Thanks. Also, if you had to pick a place to stay, would it be near the Daphne Veneto, the Ponte Sisto or the Transvere area like the Santa Maria. I haven't gotten a sense of direction yet for Rome. I am hoping to be in an area where there is a little night life within a short area. I definitely don't want to be in a business district which closes at night. Thanks.

I think the Hotel Art is quite new. But its location near the Spanish steps makes it less appealing to me than a hotel in the livelier areas in the historic center (Pantheon/Campo de Fiori/Piazza Navona).

The Boscolo Aleph is also a fairly new and trendy hotel. It's off Piazza Barberini near the beginning of the Via Veneto, which has to be the most boring street in all of Rome. In the 50s and 60s, it was the "la dolce vita" scene, but today it's snooty hotels, expensive cafes and overpriced stores.

I just responded to your post about Ponte Sisto, but I would add that the Campo de Fiori/Piazza Farnese area is VERY lively at night. All the bars/restaurants/gellato places are open. Young people flock to the area like crazy starting about 8:00pm and stay till very late. There are lots of cops there at night too. One night they had hundreds of folding chairs set up in Piazza Farnese and they were showing a movie. It was so sweet!

Trastevere is also lively at night. The restaurants and bars are very busy and there is a small flea market kind of thing that goes on. (I didn't see anything interesting for sale there thouh.) Again, a young crowd.

Rome is very small. The Ponte Sisto is sort of between Trastevere and Campo de Fiori -- but it's very close to both. Best of both worlds if you ask me.

Some people prefer Piazza Navona or Pantheon area. I didn't - just too touristy I guess (although all of Rome is touristy!).

I also did not like the Via Veneto area. Too fancy schmancy/corporate traveler looking. But, I'm sure to many people this would be their first choice area. Just not my thing.

Check out hotel tiziano at hoteltiziano.it. The hotel in trastevere in my opinion is a little further than other hotels. Trust me after a long day, the last thing you want to do is get on the tram to go there.
Hotel tiziano is near everything.. literally, Cabs are across the street, campo is about two blocks along with the pantheon and all the nightclubs nearby and all walking distance hence no need for wasted cab fare. For night clubs you need to see supper club, la masion and bloom!! These are the three top nightclubs in Rome!! and you will have an amazing time just be prepared to practice your italian If you do stay in this area, there is a great chinese spot around the corner. Enjoy!

Still trying to decide between the Daphne Trevi, Hotel Ponte Sisto, Albergo Del Senato, and maybe the Hotel Santa Maria. Which ones do you feel are in the most enjoyable areas? I don't want to be in a place that is dead at night. Any opinions? Decisions, decisions
