Mordor used to be really nice, but now it's way too crowded after having been popularized by Rick Steves in "Middle Earth Through the Back Door."

Use Gondor as a home base and day-trip into Mordor.

unless you're studying vulcanology, in which case something near mount doom would be a good location.

Vulcanology eh. I didn't realize Spock lived near Mount Doom! Maybe it's just his winter getaway...

Yeah, and I found it hard to sleep. I felt like somebody was staring at me with a great, big eye. Weird.

Um, this is a bit off-topic, but can anyone tell me if they wear tennis shoes in Mordor, or should I invest in some large hairy feet and try to blend in? Also, do orcs like jeans or should I leave my jeans at home? What about the public transportation...are the rumors of having to walk everywhere true or are there public fell beasts? And finally, I've heard the food is not very good...should I bring my own lembas?
Oh yeah, do you think a teenager would get anything out of Mordor or should I leave him with the Galathrim?

Is there a decent rugby competition in Mordor ? I am sure I have seen some of the Orcs playing for the All Blacks.

Ahh, Mordor. So romantic, such atmosphere ... we honeymooned there. Villa d'Orc -- marvelous memories.

If you go to Mordor, leave your jewelry at home. Word on the street is that they are confiscating all rings at the border checks.
