Anyone have any experience with romerentalapartments.com?

I'm hoping someone can give me some info on this agency - good or bad. My booking with Sleep in Italy has fallen through and I'm trying to find something else.

I like the looks of the apartments at romerentalapartments.com but I can't find ANYTHING about the agency. Since I've been burned by a couple of agencies in the past, I'm reluctant to book with someone with no info online.

I have had no experience with the company you mention, but have rented from this one http://www.rome-accom.com/ and can recommend them as having good apartmrnts, being prompt with emails and generally making sure you have a good holiday in Rome.

I found a site called slow travel and has lots of reviews of apartments in Italy.

We are going to Rome in June with are 2 grandsons and will be renting an apartment for 3 days have yet to find one and book it though.
Have already booked our rentals in Paris and London.

I wish I could help, JJ. I had the same situation last spring when my daughter was renting an apartment in Rome over the internet. I couldn't find any info on the agency Roma Rentals (www.romarentals.net) They turned out to be very professional and very nice, and the apartment was as advertised. We went over in October and found an apartment in the Campo di Fiori area through Slow Traveler. It was with an agency named Dolce Roma (www.dolceroma.it). We were very happy with the whole process and the apartment.

Well darn, Suki - Now you've got me trying to find info on TWO agencies!

I checked romarentals.net and liked the looks of a couple of their apartments, and like you, can't find a single bit of info about them. And since their website dates back to 2005, that just doesn't give me a warm, fuzzy feeling about them either. Did your daughter rent an apartment from them (I wasn't quite sure from your post)?

Thanks to all for your feedback. I've sent a couple email requests, so I'll just keep my fingers crossed!

JJ, I'm afraid I don't know anything about Rome Rentals or Roma Rentals.

But as Suki suggests, you can find a lot of reviews posted by travelers of rental apartments on the Slow Travel -- Italy message board. (www.slowtrav.com.) Even just reading some reviews can be an education in what to look for, what to expect, what to be wary about!

Neither of those agencies is mentioned on Slow Trav, but DolceRoma which was mentioned by Suki (www.dolceroma) has gotten a lot of great reviews. In fact, I don't think I've ever heard a bad thing about the family-owned agency.

I've rented from Natalia and her husband at Dolce Roma and it was a great experience.

Good luck.

Yes she did rent through them and had a very positive experience. Joe & Tina are the owners and they returned to the states right after my daughter arrived because Tina was having a baby. But they have an office in Trastevere and the employees have been very good about reponding to any problems. When my daughter and her roommates arrived in Rome, Tina & Joe met them at the airport and then gave them a tour of the neighborhood introducing them to the pizza shop owner & taking them to the bank, etc. They invited them to stop by the office to play with their dogs anytime they wanted. It was a great introduction for some slightly nervous students.

Others on Fodor's have rented through Dolce Roma. Natalia & Walter provide a great welcome, including breakfast supplies the first morning, and a cell phone to use while renting from them. I highly recommend them.

Don't know about this agency, but can recommend an apartment near the Vatican. It's been some years since we stayed there, but we were very pleased. It's near the Vatican; sleeps 5; has refrig but no cooking capability; shower; excellent air conditioning! Check this link

JJ...

Just curious if you did book with RomeRentalApartments?

I've just started looking for an apartment for an 8 night trip to Rome in October and I came across them on a VRBO listing and was interested to know if you booked with them.

Thanks to this thread listing a few agencies I didn't know about, my search will be expanding!

LowCountryIslander - No, I didn't use them as I just never found enough info on them to make me feel comfortable. I ended up working with Giulia at Sleep In Italy and found a replacement apartment that worked great for us.
