Apartment in London 1-118 Chelsea Manor Street - is this okay?
Hello,
I am about to book this apartment in London through London Connections and was wondering if the address is in a good area, or if anyone has stayed in this particular unit. We've been to London; we'll do some sightseeing but will be be mostly be going to the theater most nights. Thank you.

It's almost right along the King's Road which has excellent bus service, the 11 or 22. They;ll take you where ever you want to go. There are 2 nearby excellent pubs, the Cadogan Arms and The Pig's Ear . The cadogan Arms can sometimes be booked on toptable for 50% off dinners. King's Rd steakhouse-Marco Pierre White is just a bit along the street.

The website for the tube says 23 minutes to Sloane Square tube station (and the address is about the same distance to S. Kensington Station, benefit of S. Kensington station is both Picadilly and District/Circle line stop there).
But really it is more like 15 minutes I would think at a normally brisk pace.
It's not a bad walk though, nice area, and it would be a good idea also to learn the buses that go right there along Kings Road just to the north such as 11 (goes past Westminster and on down Fleet Street to St Pauls), 22 (goes to Piccadilly Circus), 19 (goes near British Museum) and 211 (goes to South Bank and Waterloo) which you can take to your destination or just to the closest tube stop. There is also the 170 which runs along the Chelsea Embankment (on the Thames) and goes to Victoria Station.
You can check these all out under www.tfl.gov.uk by selecting under "maps" the button for "buses" which lets you put in an address and find all the bus routes near that address.
(The "journey planner" section on that website is also wonderful if you don't already know it.)

And the 49 , stop across from Chelsea Old Town Hall on I think It's Sydney St, takes you to Kensington Palace, the park and down along Kensington High Street.Or drops you off right in front of Gloucster Rd tube or South Kensington tube. The 11 also goes to Victoria and right to Covent Garden area

On Google maps it looks to be about half a mile up Kings Road. The Transport for London walking directions say it is a maximum of 11 minutes from Town Hall which is near the flat.
In our recent very positive experience with London Connections they were able to provide good information about practical things like this; the web page you listed says it is a five minute walk to the tube.

We stayed in an apartment about a block closer to the Sloane Square stop, but along the Kings Road, lat October (wouldn't recommend the apartment--bit of a dump). But loved the location and it's a nice, short walk from your street to the Sloane Sq. tube. We enjoyed stopping by Partridge's in the Duke of York Square for snacks on the way "home" from the tube.
DO eat at the Pigs Ear! We had dinner there with Avalon and her cute hubby and it was delightful and delicious!

If you go in the other direction on the King's Road (instead of towards Sloane Square) there are lots of restaurants there as well. The Bluebird Café is nice (the restaurant upstairs a bit more formal) and it's an amazing building. Great shop too.
Nearby is also Ziani's in Radnor Walk, where we used to eat often when we lived in that area. It's Italian, a bit crowded, always busy.
It's a great area, residential but central.

Hi, leaving soon for London! I'm trying to set up a time for the company rep to meet us at the apartment. Assuming our flight arrives on time (9 am on a Thursday), approximately what time will we get to the apartment? We're taking BA (terminal 5) and using justairports for transportation. The rep will wait for us for an hour after the appointed time. I requested 11 am, but am second-guessing myself. Thank you.

Nena: I think 11:00 is a tad bit optimistic. Count on 45 minutes absolute minimum for the drive -- but 60-75 minutes is more likely.
You have no idea if you will land on time, or if a gate is immediately open, or if there are queues at immigration, or if you luggage comes out on time.
What I'd do is arrange w/ the rep that you will phone him from the arrivals hall after you have your bags. OR - the driver will absolutely have a phone, so you can ask him to ring the rep as you get in the car. Then he'll have about an hour to get to the flat to meet you.
The rep can check the status of your flight on-line or on his mobile so if you are seriously delayed, he'll have a heads up.
