And I just could not resist going again..in October! we had started planning 6 days then it turned into 8 and now it's 10!!
And if I hadn't already bought the tickets..I might be able to add a few more!
It is so damn boring here in Central FL...unless you really love MICKEY!!

Hi Jody
No, not yet. Sometimes boring is just the ticket. I've had enough excitement to last me a long, long while. I'm still getting treatment and chasing nurses up and down the halls. The young ones are too fast.

Photobear, the Avenue la Bourdonnais is a nice enough address. Our hotel was on the end of that avenue. It's lined with trees and runs parallel to the Champs de Mars, one block over. If you have the street address, go to that Paris website that gives you photos of the neighborhood. I don't have that URL anymore, though. Maybe someone else does? Robespierre?

put in your apartment's address,
use 75007 for 'localitie' and click on 'photo' on the listing. use the arrows to 'walk' up/down your street.

As long as you're staying in the 7th, why not try a market in the 7th? The Saxe-Breteuil open air market, which is open on Thursday and Saturday, is wonderful place to gather foodstuffs for a picnic or even a five-course dinner for that matter. You can also find household goods, platters and all sorts of things that make swell little gifts and remembrances of your trip there.

We have not made final plans on where to stay. We were thinking the 7th but soe people thought we might like to stay in the 6th...
Thanks for the information about Saxe-Breteuil...I'll look for this one if we end up in the 7th.

I've been vacationing in Paris almost annually since the mid 70s and since the early 80s have stayed in the 6th...after having tried LOTS of other areas. I prefer the 6th over the 7th although the 7th is very nice...very residentual..The 6th is very lively. The open air market is on rue de Seine between Blvd. St.Germain and rue Buci. The enclosed Marche St. Germain is on rue Clement... one block south of Blvd. St. Germain between rue de Seine and I can't remember the name of the street that's one block west of rue de Seine. If you stay at the Hotel le Clement...on rue Clement... a very nice and quiet location...then you will be right across the street from the front entrance of the Marche St. Germain. I stay at this hotel. I used to stay over on rue de Seine...a half block north of rue Buci, but I find it much quieter at the Hotel le Clement. Just ask for a room facing the street as they are the best rooms. The street isn't noisy at all...since it's a very narrow street on a quiet square. There is also a gourmet supermarket that's next door to the huge department store called "Bon Marche" in the 7th. It's the department store's own gourmet store. Happy Travels!

Thanks...I don't know why I keep forgetting the name of that gourmaet store. I should always remember it since I bought the shopping bags with the name of the store on it the last trip I was there. The bags are great and a great gift idea, too. Happy Travels!
