Barcelona this May - How crowded?
Can anyone share any insights on how crowded Barcelona will be this May? I know it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world - but I don't have a feel for how residual Covid anxiety might impact the numbers.
The reason I care is I am trying to figure out how diligent I need to be about making reservations at all the most popular sites. I have already purchased ticket for Casa Batlló and Sagrada Familia. Just wondering if I need to worry about advance tickets for other venues (e.g. Park Guell). I am also trying to figure out aggressive I need to be about making dinner reservations.
I am happy to plan ahead - but I do worry that planning everything ahead will rob us of a little spontaneity.
The trip is in early/mid-May.

I suspect that it will be very crowded.
Barcelona is one of the Med's major cruise ports, and if the huge, mega cruise ships come back and are in port during your stay, the Gothic Quarter, especially, will be packed with visitors. And Barcelona also does a huge convention/congress business, plus is a popular destination for long weekends for Europeans, as it's served by several low cost airlines .
You should definitely get tickets ahead of time to the Parc Güell.
And also buy online tickets to the Picasso Museum to avoid standing in a very long line.
We do make dining reservations in advance (not necessarily now but a week in advance), either on the restaurants' online booking pages or on www.thefork.com.
