BBC TV Tours
I received some excellent advice on our London itenerary in a previous thread. I wanted to post a new thread to get any specific advice on BBC TV tours. The previous BBC thread was a few years old, so I would like to hear from anyone who has recently attended the tour. I have checked out their website, so I am familiar with how to book, location, etc., but would like to get some practical advice on the tours? In a nutshell, if you did it, was it worth it?

Hi -
Unless you really know your British telly inside out & backwards, you'll be bored stiff by the history of the BBC.
Blue Peter garden, ooooh!
If you have no idea what I mean by this, I'd skip the shlep out to W12 (way out west from the center of town). I've sent both Dutch and American friends on the tour - and they were positively underwhelmed.

Another question-My daughter and I play a lot on the CBeebies website. She really likes some of the characters. Will we be able to purchase merchandise in shops around London? Is there a gift shop with these things at BBC studios?

I don't know whether you can visit the TV centre gift shop on the tour (I would presume so) but the BBC does have 2 other shops in London: http://www.bbcshop.com/page/shop
