Belgium- day trip to Namur or Dinant?

We're in our planning stages to Belgium in September and have chosen Bruge and Ghent so far, but are also interested in southern Belgium. Has anyone been to Namur or Dinant? From what I've read they both look interesting. Any thoughts?

Search under"Naumur", Belgium on this site and you will find a very nice reply to the same question I asked several months ago, even though I misspelled the name of the town.

Kerry: Dinant is a great little riverside, resort village; many hotels, restaurants, a casino, lots of shops, fun old town, etc. Rivercruises are offered and enjoyable. We stayed at the Hotel Mercure just outside of town in a wooded area. Nice!
Namur is more hectic. Also on the river, although, not as obvious. The Citidal is the thing here. High on a hill and very imposing. Good tours and great views. Many castles in the Namur area. The gardens at Annevole are special. I would make this a day trip, perhaps from Dinant.
Another great river location is Durbuy; small, charming, touristy, but a fun stop. Good restaurants. You could make Durbuy on the same day trip. Great area.
I know people sell Brussels short. but you need to spend a day there to see the Grand Place at night and during the day. There are some fantastic restaurants in Brussels and the shops and side lanes off the Grand Place are a lot of fun.
Antwerp is also worth a visit. It is a great city with much to see and do; not charming (for the most part) like Bruge and Ghent, but very interesting.
If you want the best information on Belgium, go to the website "www.jack-travel.com/belgium". This fellow is Belgian, writes with passion in a very engaging style and is tremendously knowledgable about Belgium. His restaurant and hotel recommendations are fantastic. Perhaps, the best "guide book" I have ever used. I simply printed off all his pages. He sites a Basque/French Restaurant in Brussels which was exceptional. Bit of a trip as it is out in the neighborhood, but an 8 euro cab ride. Belgium is tremendously underrated as a vacation spot. Enjoy!
