Big villa rental (2nd time lucky)
Does anyone have the faintest idea how we can get in touch with someone with a lovely villa that will comfortably sleep 12 to rent to us in August 1999. Must have pool, views, nice spaces, covered place which we can eat out in etc.

We speak good Italian so can deal direct.

Thanks

Gina, check the In Italy website (www.initaly.com). They give info for a number of villa rental agencies -- you type in your requirements, and back comes a list of possibilities. There seems to be a range of prices and sizes, in a number of regions -- lots in Tuscany and Umbria. We're hoping to do the villa-rental thing with family soon.
If you don't want to deal with an agency, see if you can acquire a copy of the London Sunday Times, (our local Barnes and Noble carries it weekly) and check the classifieds in the Travel section.

Buon viaggio!
My family rented an apartment in Rome for a week from a company that has one villa in Umbria (I know because we are considering renting it, it looks lovely). Our dealings with this company couldn't have been better. We hunted around quite a bit when we looked for the place in Rome and these prices were much better for terrific quality and location.
