Black Forest for 3-4 days during April end 2018.

Hello Everyone,

My and my wife planning to visit Black Forest for 4 Days from April 27 till April 30. Below is my itinerary:

We would like to get your valuable suggestions on my plan.

More Interests: Nature, scenic drives and water falls.

Less Interest: Architecture , museums etc.

Apr 27 - Day 1: Landing at Amsterdam Schiphol from Dubai around 1 PM.

Visiting only keukenhof garden and flying around 09 PM to Frankfurt reaching Frankfurt at 10 PM.

Renting a car and heading towards Hotel near to ariport for over night stay.

Apr 28 - Day 2: Drive to Black Forest and reaching Baden Baden.
Roaming around in Baden Baden and staying overnight.

Apr 29 - Day 3: Driving to Rhine Water Falls and returning to Triberg also visiting Cockoo Clocks.

Apr 30 - Day 4: Triberg Water Falls and some in and around places , then heading back to Frankfurt Airport and flying back to Dubai.

May 1 - We can extend 1 more day based on your suggestions. Please advise.

Thank You in advance.

That seems like a phenomenal amount of traipsing around just to see a waterfall and some cuckoo clocks. I don't think I could begin to manage such a whirlwind without falling prey to serious jetlag. What is it about Baden-Baden that is so alluring? I mean, it's a nice place, I've been there a few times, but there is no way I would go through all that rigmarole to get there on a very, very short trip all the way from Dubai. I'd just stay in Amsterdam and take a daytrip to a nearby town/city.

Quite a distance to travel to Amsterdam for only 8 hours. (Less, if you consider traveling from Schiphol to Keukenhof and return. I would rather skip Amsterdam or Germany and spend the 4 days in either but not both. However, it is your time, expense and travel.

StCirq says it all.

May 1- maybe put a day in on the Rhine in its most gorgeous part - the Rhine Gorge close to Frankfurt. Could ditch car in say Mainz and take K-D (k-d.com) boats down the Rhine to say Boppard and take train back to Mainz - for something different. For lots on these boats and trains and Rhine check www.bahn.de/en - www.seat61.com; BETS-European Rail Experts and www.ricksteves.com. Mainz to Frankfurt Airport is just a short regional train ride.

Thank You All for your suggestions.

Actually we had already visited Amsterdam during AUG 2016. We missed visiting the garden since it was open seasonally.

Black Forest is naturally beautiful hence wanted to visit. We are not driving from AMS to FRA , we are flying though just 1hr.

Would you guys want us to skip Black Forest rather visit different place.?

Black Forest I think may be highly over romanticized - nice but I'd take the Rhine/Mosel over it for lots on nice nature and easy to do things.
