Book early for Krakow

Alas, it looks like the Prague crowds may have discovered Krakow. I'm trying to book a room for early June - admittedly a single at the low end of the price range - and keep getting "sold out" replies.

While I know that Krakow is becoming increasing popular (places tend to do that as soon as Easyjet/Ryanair start flying to these cities because it makes it so cheap and easy for weekenders from the UK).

I'm going a week on Thursday for 3 nights and have found plenty of accommodation options although I still haven't booked anything. I know June will be a busier month but unless there is something major happening in the city, I can't imagine you should have too much trouble finding somewhere. We are a group of 3 so we're obviously looking for slightly different things but most places I am seeing offer single accommodation.

Hi T,

I am going to krakow in July and also a single traveller.

I was surprised at the cost of accommodation for single occupancy in the centre of Krakow but found this place on this forum and it looks good in a great location. It is also very cheap and the e mails I received from the owners were very positive.

Helen, I'm booked in the Trecius for July as well, from the 2nd to the 5th. It does sound lovely, doesn't it?

Cambe & Amy, yes I liked the look of Trecius too - in fact it was the first place I tried. Fully booked. I don't know whether it's because I'm looking for a single, or because something is going in Krakow the first weekend in June.

A friend and I will be in Krakow for a few days next week and we'll be at the Hotel Batory--their single rate was 55 euros/night including breakfast. Seems like a pleasant place to stay in a good location.

OK, problem solved. I'll be staying with http://www.sherp.com.pl/ which is who I used last time, only their Slawkowska 23 location is full. I'll be a little out of the center at Krowoderska 27 - 120 zl for a single with bath. I can't wait to see Krakow again - my perfect breakfast is sipping cappucino and orange juice on the main square admiring the fairy-tale spires on St. Mary's church.

Where2Travel - the cheap flights may explain the problem since I'm booking for Fri & Sat nights. Now, on to Zakopane...
