COVID entry requirements if you’ve had Covid in past 90 days

Is there a form? Or does a simple note from your doctor suffice?

Wow, 146 views and no one has had any experience with this. Lucky all of you. I was looking for firsthand experience. Yes, I’ve researched multiple sites that speak to the subject. Shows how confusing it all is.

I suspect it more likely shows you haven't given enough information to provide an answer.

It isn't that surprising that no one has had experience with having COVID recently and then going to Portugal within a few months. I don't know why you find that hard to believe.

It isn't really that confusing if you just read the appropriate requirements, such as on the US Embassy in Portugal's website or perhaps an airline going to Portugal. NOt to mention, I guess you aren't vaccinated or none of that would even matter. Why don't you get vaccinated?

Portugal is pretty lenient in that you don't even need any of that if you present negative COVID test results for a test taken within 24 hrs of boarding for antigen or 72 for PCR.

IN any case, no, it is not just a simple note. Anybody could write one for themself, if so. It has to specify exactly what variant of virus you were infected with, your official name and address and birthdate, official copies of your positive COVID test result and an officially signed document from a medical provider attesting that you have recovered. There are also dating requirements as to how long ago you recovered, etc. It can't be yesterday, for example.

As of now, all US citizens and Canadians are still required to provide a negative test, so it would seem that as long as you test negative, there should be no issue for entry. But, If you do test positive (as many people do long after they are recovered), I suggest that you write to the Portuguese consulate to determine whether a doctor's letter would be accepted, as the official government site, Visit Portugal, notes only that a "recovery EU digital certificate" is accepted for people who've had COVID in the past:
https://www.visitportugal.com/en/con...ented-portugal

Although the tests ARE required, it's been only intermittently enforced by the airlines or immigration/passport control upon entry to Portugal, as many people report not having been asked for the tests when they travel to Portugal.
