Current German Covid-19 restrictions for Americans
Hi all,
I'm flying to Berlin in two weeks and as I look at new travel restrictions I'm wondering if I need to quarantine when I arrive. I'm not sure how often Germany's travel advisory gets updated but as of August 15 the US has been placed on the 'high risk list'. I am fully vaccinated. I'm guessing that if I submit my proof of vaccination I won't have to quarantine upon arrival. I've included the latest German Ministry of Interior posting below. Thanks for helping!
"Travellers who have spent time in high-risk areas must remain in quarantine for ten days. If, before the ten days have elapsed, you submit proof of vaccination or of recovery from COVID-19 to https://www.einreiseanmeldung.de, you may end your quarantine at the time you submit the necessary proof. Alternatively, after the fifth day in quarantine, you may reduce the quarantine period by submitting proof of a negative test result. Children under the age of 12 who are entering Germany from high-risk areas may end quarantine automatically after five days even without submitting proof of a negative test result."

The US embassies in foreign countries keep their COVID-19 pages up to date. Have you checked the US Embassy Berlin website?
