Day tours/guides in ephusses

We will be in Ephesus one day during a cruise and are looking for a tour. The ones offered through the cruise ship is very expensive. Does anyone have the name of a tour company they know of that could be recommended. I have seen several online but would like some opinions. Thanks

Hi, We did a private tour o Ephesus and the Virgin Mary's House and a small Turkish village called Sirince last year through a company called Sammy's Travel. Like you, we were put off by the cost of the cruise ships tours. We didnt really no what to expect when we booked but were pleasantly surprised as we had a great guide, nice coach and a driver all for us. Much better than going with everyone else on the big buses organised by the ship.

I found this company very helpful and they answered all my questions (of which I had a lot) very quickly by email at time of booking.

thanks so much. I just found the website for Sammy's. I have also emailed a private driver/guide named Mesut but haven'tgotten the prices yet. Has anyone heard of him?

We used Anker Travel, based in Kusadisi ( not far from Ephesus) for our private tour. They sent a wonderful driver and guide who was very good. I'd highly recommend them! You can also check out other travel agents and look for more info about Turkey on Turkeytravelplanner.com.

Havent heard off that driver sorry and I did do quite a bit of research on forums before I booked my tour. Make sure they have a license to take you into Ephesus and pick you up from the port they need to be registered to even enter the port so if that driver is not then you will have to meet outside the gates or near town somewhere.

Thanks so much. I'll check out Anker Travel. And I really do appreciate the tip on having a registers guide. I had not thought about that at all.

Although you can hire local guides in Ephesus you have the chance to find one without fluent english or hurrying your tour.
The best is to hire a guide before.
