Decide on Prague Hotel
Hi, we are going to be in Prague for 4 nights in Sept. Looking for a hotel, 4* or better which is convenient for walking to sights, not too hilly, close to restaurants & not dead at night.
Considering the Moods Charles Bridge
https://www.expedia.com/Prague-Hotel...Charles+Bridge
& Hotel Cube, which (more expensive).
https://www.google.com/travel/search...AAAAHQAAAAAQBg
Hotel Paris & Hotel King's Court are also options. I feel their location is not as convenient though I could be wrong.
Does anyone have personal experience of any of these hotels/areas?
TIA!

Haven't any personal experience with either hotel, but MOODS would definitely be a better bet for location for lively vs dead in the evening. You want to be as close to the old town square as possible for evening options (dinner, drinks, etc).
We stayed at the Design Hotel Josef, a 2 or so block walk to the square for that very reason, and the location couldn't have been better to suit our particular needs. Which is close to everything and lively.

I used to live in Prague, and some of my friends stayed in Hotel Paris - they LOVED it. It's the most central of all these options (or at least, closest to Old Town Square) and the decor inside is fab.
I lived in the same neighborhood as Hotel Cube (although I haven't heard of the hotel) and it's a great area, but it IS farther away from Old Town Square. New Town (where it's located) has some great delights though.
Moods Charles Bridge looks fine, although you'll be right in the thick of tourist central. However, you'll have better access to mala strana and the castle as WELL as Old Town from here (although you're farther away from Old Town than you would be at Paris.)

I stayed in Hotel Pariz a couple times and love it. I don't understand why you could think it isn't a convenient location, and the Kings Court is right next to it anyway, but a noisier location being right on the square. The Cube is in a more inconvenient location by far. You couldn't pay me to stay right near the bridge, but I guess some people like that.

Christina, could you please elaborate on why you wouldn't stay close to the bridge? I am assuming you're referring to the Moods Charles Bridge, would really appreciate your feedback since that's the one I have booked! (Free cancellation though).
And I meant the location of both Hotel Paris & King's Court but seems like I was wrong about the location not being as convenient.
Thanks!

well, I presumed by its name it was right near Charles Bridge which is noisy and shoulder to shoulder tourists. I checked and it isn't quite, it's near the street running along the river, some blocks away. I don't personally like hotels that kind of lie about their location, but that's another issue. It's not as bad as I thought but I still would never stay there for a couple reasons. First, it isn't that convenient for public transportation. Now you may not care, but it's about 5-6 blocks from a metro stop. There is one tram that runs along that river road but I don't know where it goes, south somewhere.
I also don't think there are many restaurants around there but perhaps you've checked on that..
I've stayed at the Hotel Pariz twice and in the Josefov quarter two others times, which I really like as it's a bit farther from the hubbub (I stayed in Hotel Maximilian which unfortunately has modernized their decor, it used to be lovely but I don't like this modern stuff much). The Hotel Pariz is super convenient for all kinds of transportation and only a short walk to the main square, for that matter. But it's down a side street so not as noisy as those hotels right on the main square would be. I also like doing things across the river to the north and around Florenc stop and it's convenient for that, and there are some small restaurants etc, plenty around there and down Dlouha into the Josefov area. YOu can get metro, tram and bus lines easily from that location. Also, it's near the Imperial Cafe which I love.
I don't know why you thought that was a convenient location, though (the Moods hotel) and the ones near Namesti Republicky not convenient, and your desires may be different from mine, of course.
