Escorted tours for Slovenia and Croatia

My husband and I would like to take a 45th Anniversary trip to Croatia and Slovenia. It looks like Slovenia Travel has a great 9 day escorted tour that covers the areas we are most interested in. Does anyone have experience with that travel company and was it good, bad or mediocre?

You might want to check out Gate 1. I just came from a Croatia/Slovenia trip in March 2010 and I loved it.

P_M, would you please share your Croatia/Slovenia Gate 1 travel experience? If I remember right, I think you also did their Turkey tour during winter, right?

I toured Slovenia and Croatia with Grand Circle Travel and thought it was a good trip. The tour guide was very good and I enjoyed the "home hosted" dinner in a small village outside Dubrovnik. The entire meal was from the family's farm and it was fun talking with a native Croatian. The daughter who spoke English ate with us so we could ask here questions about the country and people.

The tour at Diocletian's Palace with a local guide was fantastic - one of the best site tours I've taken.

I just looked at the trip and see that they've added a couple of optional cruises that look interesting. I would have taken these if they had been offered when I did the trip.

You might check out noambit.com Last year I remember them having several posts about Croatia and mentioning they could recommend a great tour guide. They also have a free audio tour for somewhere in Croatia you can download.
