Not sure what is best for trip from Barcelona to Seville - will leave that to others. Do have one suggestion.
I realize you have only two full days in Seville, but I would still leave Seville early on Tuesday and stop by Cordoba to see the Mezquita; I promise you it will be worth it. Also, If at all possible, do a short day trip to Toledo from Madrid. Actually, I would choose Toledo over Segovia, but they are quite different. Toledo is a tight warren of mostly walking only streets with one of the truly awesome (a word I usually hate, but it is well deserved here) cathedrals in the world. Segovia has a large plaza that is very pretty with Isabel's picturesque castle and a great Roman aqueduct.

Did you decide not to go anywhere else? I was going to say southern France works well with Spain but it looks like now your palns have changed?
My daughter and I have taken quite a few trips to Europe - esp. when we first started, we usually liked doing more than one country because who knows how many opportunities you'll have?? Looking back, we could have gone slower and spent more time, moving around less but IMO 7 days in Spain and then moving along shouldn't be prosecuted by the Fodor's police.
