Florence train station lockers
We will in Florence for only a few hours on our way from Venice to Rome in October. Does anyone know if there are luggage lockers in the train station in Florence. We don't want to haul our luggage around town during our visit. Thanks a lot.

No lockers last I knew in any Italian train station due to terrorism concerns years ago and never put back in - you may see lockers but they've not been used in years - unless things have suddenly changed - yet there is a manual left-luggage where you pay per bag for up to six hours of storage - at a flat fee but beware that there can be slow moving lines at the oft congested places so leave more time to retrieve bags than you epcet if on a time bind.

there is a website which gives all the details of the major railway stations of Italy, including Firenze SMN. Here is the link to the left luggage office:

Yes just look for large pictograms of that sign on annhig's link and follow those posted signs in any Italian station to find the left luggage. And charge is per 5 hours not 6 as I said - after that per hour.

I've been in Florence recently, i've found a new left luggage ! Way better then the one in the station! Cheaper and cleaner. Just few steps from the Duomo and the station. it's in Via dei Boni 5(red).

It's now active in Florence a luggage storage network called Bagbnb. There are several bars, hotels and shops that joined the network, you can go on the website, choose the closest storage and book it online. check it here: https://bagbnb.com/luggage-storage/florence

I was gonna say that too!

Well it does seem like a good alternative to the station if you are in the Duomo area and want to stow luggage - 1 euro an hour or 6euro all day
would not take much to be way better than the one in the station IME- slow-moving desultory clerks and apt to have long lines.
but not steps from the station but about half-way to Duomo -useless for train travelers.
