From Marco Polo airport to the cruise ship

Our cruise ship charges $85/person to get from Marco Polo airport to the dock. I know there is public transportation that would be much cheaper, but we will have had 3 flights by the time we reach Venice, and I would rather just take a cab. Does anyone know if that is a much more reasonable choice than $85/person? Or should I just give it up to Holland America?
Thank you

I don't know where your ship is docking, but ours docked at San Basilio, and we shared a cab with another couple--I think it came out to be 10 Euro per person, with tip.

Hi Sandy - A taxi will be much cheaper.

The going rate for a taxi to the port area is approx € 35-40.

Hope this helps ...

You need to check where your ship will berth. There are at least three places where cruise ships berth in Venezia, and not all of them have road access. Riva Sette Martire can only be reached on foot or by boat. There is a list of ships, dates and berths on www.vtp.it.

We will be sailing on the Zuiderdam, a Holland America ship. Do they generally dock in the same place for each cruise? Thank you all for the websites - I tried translating them, but was not successful.

The list of cruise ship berths on www.vtp.it now seems to be restricted to agents. I've definitely been able to look at it in the past.
It seems you'll need to contact Holland America. They must send boarding instructions before the cruise.
