Giverney and Versaille

If we want to do Giverney and Versaille on the same day, should we go with the Paris Vision tour and on our own. We have to do both the same day. Thanks!

Hello, Betty. My husband and I were in France last year and visited both Giverny and Versailles on our own. I do suggest you spend at least a full day in Versailles. There is so much to see there, and the grounds are just gorgeous.
We spent a half day in Giverny. You may want to spend a full day if you plan on seeing the American museum, as well.
In summary, I do suggest you visit these places on your own. That way, you can spend as much time as you want in each city.
Have a great trip.

I do appreciate your time constraints and so would recommend the Paris Vision tour because of the transportation. Haven't taken it myself but you will get an overview of both. I haven't been to Giverny but imagine you will see Monet's house/gardens and a quick tour thru Versailles with a long distance look at the gardens. You probably won't see the Trainons or the Hameau. I have taken a 1/2 day tour (first time to Paris) of Versailles and was not impressed (too fast). Went last year on my own for the whole day and had a totally different impression. I really enjoyed the leisure thru the palace and strolling thru the gardens, etc. But, you can always go back, hopefully, and see Versailles more leisurely.

If you go on your own and do not have tickets prior to getting there, and it is tourist season, you will have a very long wait at Versaille. If I remember correctly, Versaille is to the south, Giverney to the east. very difficult to even try to make them both the same day! If you decide on only one, choose Versaille, it has one of the most unbelievably beautiful castles and gardens...so you get twice as much to see as if you went to Giverney. Also, if it is a draught year, Giverney and other French gardens, can be a disappointment. We found the french people very friendly and helpful. Have a fun trip!
