You should contact your university for info about part-time jobs - sine to get a legal one in the UK is very difficult unless you are part of an official student plan.
The weather in Glasglow will be chilly and damp most of the year - somewhat less so in the summer. Some snow is likely in the winter. (On one trip in JULY we were in Scotland for several days and it was about 45 - farenheit, 7 celsius - raining and windy. When we had left London 4 days before it was in the low 80s - about 28C. But that is unusually cold for summer.)
For winter you will need a winter coat, hat, scarf, boots etc and a good selection of warm sweters and pants (like cords). Don't know how easy these will be to find in India - but imagine it will be much less expensive than to wait until you get to Scotland - but then you hae to drag it all with you.

It's guaranteed to be very damp - which at low temperatures (ie under 10C) will make you feel very miserable indeed unless you are dressed warm (I'm assuming you aren't from any of the Indian highlands)

When our daughter lived in Glasgow, she found that the most difficult may be the darkness. In winter it is not well light until 9 or so in the morning, and it can be dark at 3:30.
On the other hand, congratulations for being admitted to study at a great university!

Geez! have they made you change your mind yet?
Shivani, you will need warm clothes- not exclusvely, but mostly.
Tee shirts, sweat shirts, jeans and chinos are good for casual, if you will dress Western. You can buy Indian clothes in Glasgow if you choose to.
You'll find that the Student Union or Stdents' representative council has a way of advertising jobs. On a student visa you're allowed to work 20 hours a week in term time; plus the holidays. What sort of work did you have in mind? Are you staying in Halls? What are you coming to study?
