Help! Los Seises and Las Casas de la Juderia sold out! Where else?

Message: Both Los Seises and Las Casas de la Juderia are sold out in Seville. We are going in May on our honeymoon (I know, it's late to be planning). Any other suggestions for a romantic, quaint hotel in Seville, that's nice and good for honeymooners? I'm starting to get discouraged.

Thanks.

Hello Kathy,i have just returned from a 4 day trip to seville..
Las Casas de los Mercaderes could be an alternative www.ibernet.net/lascasas
and if you want to splash out Hotel Alfonso x111

I would rec staying in carmona in either the Parador de Carmona or Alcazar de la Reina it is a 30 min taxi ride from seville, you could visit for a day or two if you want a little piece and quiet both have pools the largest at the parador(also area for sun bathing)

A day trip to Cordoba on the ave is a must (45 mins)

Hope this is helpful
Angie
While it is a deluxe hotel and fairly expensive, I'd recommend Alphnonso XIII too. The hotel is beautiful with great tile work, elegant spaces and spacious rooms -- swimming pool too. It's also in a great location within walking distance to many sights and no need for taxis. It's a Westin Hotel and I believe you can book through Starwood Hotels (I called their 800 number). We stayed there last May and were able to get a special price with breakfast included.
And as it is rated as one of the great hotels in Europe, with the exchange rate, it is something of a bargain.

If you can't snag a room at Seville's "Grand Dame", the Alfonso XIII (it's large enough so that you probably will have better luck there),then give the 5 star Casa Imperial a look. (www.casaimperial.com). It's fairly new (2 yrs old?), housed in a 16th c mansion,in the former servants' quarters, I believe, of the Casa de Pilatos, on the edge of the romantic Santa Cruz quarter. It has several wonderful, very secluded, private patios, beautiful Moorish tile work, very pretty fabrics in rms (was featured in Spains' Casa Vogue mag.), and all rms are jr. suites or suites-but no pool. I think they give guests access to a nearby health club. Until March the jr. suites go for $145 and suites for $185, including breakfast, but I didn't see their spring and summer prices listed yet. Friends of mine stayed there who really loved it and said that the service was pampering, and I looked at it and talked to the staff last June while staying nearby.

Kathy,
I like the Mercaderes also. The Alfonso is grand, but not exactly romantic.

Another one to investigate is the Taberna del Alabardero, Zaragoza 20. FAX: 95 45 63 666. Very cozy, elegant interiors ( fin de siecle style, lots of fabric), only seven ( I think) rooms. Near the bullring. Haute cuisine restaurant, too. Also, look at a Karen Brown guide for information on charming spots. She's reliable.
