Help with zones in Paris
I want to buy a Paris Visite Pass. I found a map of all the zones, but couldn't read the metro stops as they were too fine.

Which zones would I need to cover if the furthest I'll be using the pass is from Parc de la Villette.

Thanks again!

Sue, you'll only need the 1-3 zone Visite.

(You might, if you haven't already done so, do a search on this site under "Paris metro passes," for the tips on various means of paying for your metro transportation. The Paris Visite quite frequently can be an unnecessary expense--a Carte Orange is the "best buy" if you are arriving Wednesday or before; we're happy with just a carnet of tickets when it's good weather like August or September).

All the metro stops (not all RER stops) are included in the zones 1-2. All of Paris proper (RER and metro alike) is similarily included in zones 1-2.

Simpler : the zone 1-2 include all of Paris proper + all metro stops outside Paris.

Hence for the parc de la Vilette you only need a pass (Paris visite, carte orange, whatever..) valid for the zones 1 and 2. Or plain tickets.

Sue,
Thanks for the suggestion about the Carte Orange, but I will be arriving Saturday night and need the pass for Sun, Mon & Tues.

It sure was confusing, trying to figure out all the different choices! But I think the Paris Visite Pass is the one I need.
