Hotel Bathrooms and Elevators in Italy
I'm planning to go to Italy in Oct. Although I need a hotel in both Florence and Venice
with an elevator and a modern bathroom with a shower head "attached to the wall."
My price range is $200 and under per day.
Unlike in some other countries (although I only foind this problem occasionally in Greece), in Italy usually even when the shower is not attached to the wall it can be hung to the wall through a specific device that usually also allows you to angle the spray and lift or lower the shower to adjust it to your height. In case you can't guess how it works, ask to the hotel's personnel. As for elevators, except for old pensions every hotel is supposed to be equipped with an elevator.

In Italy, you are unlikely to find the old fashioned non-adjustable shower head. They tend only to be found in the USA although the modern European variety is finding its way over here.
You can move a European shower head up or down according to your height and use it attached to the wall. You can also detach it to wash your hair or any bits of yourself that require extra attention.

Dear particular asshole!

Stay at home and do us Italians all a favour. You would ruin the day of all us Italians. Asshole you! Maybe you are one of those asking the Clerk for the red and white cubed table cothes, where mamma stays in the kitchen and papa serves dishes and sing operas. Listen for all and ever: that's a stupid, idiotic American cliché. It doesn't exist in Italy. We don't live on trees, we infact do have Electricity and yes, we know how to read and write. Incredible not? Why oh why do people like you not stay where you are coming from? Asking idiotic questions on this forum and that day by day. We at least do have more education, we know how to speak in another language than only in ours and we exactly know how to use our mobile phones!

Mamma che è arrabiata!

Particular Person: Are you perhaps disabled? If so, you should know that Italy is "ADA challenged." They are working on it, city by city, but you will still find hotels without elevators and showers without attachments. However at the price range you are quoting, you may be able to find both.

i have no advice for hotels for part.
person as when i travel to italy i do
not go to florence/venice; however,
i am writing because i find mama's comments quite offensive. it sounds as though you (mama) are referring to americans in general. fyi, americans are
a culturally enriched and an extremely
tolerant people--and you apparently are
not. as an italian-american, i find
your attitude disturbing.
