Hotel Brighton/Hotel Luxembourg Parc-Paris--best location?
We will be in Paris for 8 nights in early Nov. for the first time. Which hotel--Brighton bordering the Tulieries Garden or Luxembourg Parc bordering the Luxembourg--is the better location for ease of seeing the sights. We are a couple in our 60's who like to walk.
Thanks

If you will contact the Brighton and ask for a room facing the Tuileries...314, I think...you will love it..a huge room..a huge bath with both a tub and separate stall shower.
You will be conveneiently located..
Enjoy...........

It doesn't make any difference. Really.
One may be closer to some particular sight than the other, but you can figure that out from a map if there is one particular thing you want to be close to. They are both right in the very center of Paris, just opposite sides of the river, so obviously each will be closer to things on its own side.

Hi R,
Both www.mappy.com and ww.viamichelin.com will give you walking distances from either hotel to anywhere in Paris.
www.ratp.fr will give you directions for using public transportation.

I have a bias for the Hotel Brighton because we stayed there a few days back in 2005 in a Tuileries view room and loved it. Stepping out on our tiny balcony with the Tuileries, the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay in "close" view and being able to see the Grand Palais and the Eiffel Tower was simply incredible.
But others are also right - both are conveniently located and both are well suited to walking.

The Brighton sounds lovely. We stayed at Hotel Luxembourg Parc and we loved the location. We did not find it inconvenient all but it does sound as though the Brighton is move conventient to the Louvre, Champs de E, etc.
We have stayed in many hotels in Europe and the Luxembourg Parc is our favorite. We were treated exceptionally well there. We did use the park across the street and liked the area very much. The hotel is near St. Sulpice Church( has the rose line from the DaVinci Code). Adjacent to the church is an area of shops and many wonderful places to dine.
Sounds as though you won't lose with either choice.
Happy planning!
