Hotel recommendations for Amalfi and Capri
Now that I have my fare booked, I'm onto hotels. I've had the Hotel Floridiana recommended on a previous post, but are there any other recommendations (I just like to look a few things first). I will need parking, so I know that limits the options. Budget - under $200/night.
(Also - it looks like th Floridiana has space. Any opinion about whether the junior suite is worth the cost over a superior double? If there's nothing as good with parking, I'll go ahead and book this weekend).
I thought I'd look for lodging for Capri next, it's smaller and popular. No car. Budget could go over $200/night, as I know this is a pricey place. I'll make up for it in Benevento which is very reasonable.
We need a quiet room, non smoking is good, and central location is good (we want to be able to walk to restaurants etc.).
I'll deal with the other part of our itinerary after I nail these two (Benevento, Naples). I figure Naples has the most options and we don't need parking, so I wanted to take care of Amalfi and Capri first.
Thanks in advance for your always excellent advice.

I don't know if this will fit the bill for you on Capri. We haven't stayed there, but it comes highly recommended to us by 2 different couples and we do plan it in our future.

I don't know what their present rates are, but you could try Hotel Mamela. We stayed there in 2004 and we found it to be very conveniently located to restaurants, shops and the main square. It has a beautiful pool; rooms were very spacious and the service was excellent. Capri is just beautiful and you must stop and have lunch or dinner at the Belsito Restaurant on the way to Arco Naturale. Incredible food and views.
