Hotel suggestion for Montefalco
We will be in Montefalco for two nights in October..Last year we stayed in Bevagna at L'Orto degli Angeli (wonderful!), but this year would like to be IN Montefalco or even closer than Bevagna. We are looking for a three star in the price range of 125E to 175E and would like a hotel vs. house..we hope to visit at least two vineyards and would appreciate suggestions for any you may have enjoyed.

We stayed there for two nights. It's a small hotel with beautiful grounds,
a 10 minute walk to the center of Montefalco.

There are a couple of other hotels in Montefalco as well.

We have reservations in June for Villa Zuccari in Montefalco. www.villazuccari.com
It is just recently opened, and the few reviews on tripadvosr are great.

Hi Traviata:
We stayed there 5 yrs ago and I'm told
it still holds it's charm due to the Villa's setting and the excellent culinary skills performed by the Pambuffetti.
As posted it's a brief walk into the small, medieval walled town of Montefalco. If you drive, the car park is just before the arched wall entrance into the town. You may want to visit the church of San Francesco to see the frescoes.
Introduce yourself to Signora Pambuffetti. She will share the family's history and how the villa survived it's Nazi occupation.
I can still smell the orange & lemon trees and see the view of Toscana & Marches from the Villa.

Thank you all for your advice!! A personal recommendation makes such a difference...I know one of the two will be perfect for us...I can still taste the sagrantino wines we drank last fall from the area..we're eager to return for more!!

Traviata....very close friends of ours stayed at Pambufetti last spring and loved it...I think the Zucarri may be in the same price range..about 150E's and up...I trust their judgment implicitly. We based in Perugia last year and found it to be very convenient while visiting a good part of Umbria for five days...in Montefalco, stop into the Enoteca in the Northeast corner of the village square...mother and daughter owners will treat you kindly..with delicious antipastos and local excellent wine.
