Hotels in Florence

Can anyone recommend a nice, safe hotel in Florence for a woman traveling alone?
Thank you.

don't know you budget, but a nice moderately priced hotel is Hotel Casci. The room or very basic, but clean and quiet. The breakfast is very nice, and the location is convenient to everything. The family that runs it is delightful.

Since I am traveling alone I prefer a 4 star hotel. The most important thing is safety and a private bathroom and close to the the sights in Florence.

Thank you.

Although its not 4Star, the Accademia was very nice - clean, safe, close to the sights (duomo, medici chapels, accademia). there is no elevator or restaurant which is why it may be only a 2 or 3 star. I think we paid around 150e for a double with breakfast.

Although I never did travel alone in any of my four times that I stayed at the Hotel Casci, I never felt safer. It has a private bathroom and is right smack in the middle of everything (1.5 blocks from the Duomo and even closer to the Accademia).

Along with the wonderful, home-y family that run it, you get a spotlessly clean room. break buffet breakfast and all the help you need, with a big smile, in sightseeing, etc. When I was there once with my Mother and we had a medical emergency, they could not have been more caring, helpful, wonderful. And since that emergency, every time they saw us or my Mom, they made sure to ernestly inquire about her welfare and ask whether she needed anything, etc.

I highly recommend this place.

Tim_Liz...

Have totally enjoyed your trip reports!

Can you confirm that the B&B "allorobb" has a toilet and shower in each room?

Thank you!

Thanks!
Yes, our room had a shower and toilet. I believe all rooms did, but I cannot say for sure. Cristian responds to emails quickly, so you could always email him.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Berchielli. The staff were helpful via emails and we requested a riverview room which we received. The location is just a half block away from the Ponte Vecchio. They had a lovely breakfast presented in a beautiful breakfast room.
