Hotels in Rome

Hello Everyone - In June 2012 I will be traveling to Rome for about 3 days with 4 friends. Does anyone have a room recommendation? We'd like to keep it at $80 to $100 US dollars each.

In Europe most hotel rooms are small and have one double bed only. So you could do two double rooms at $200 per night each - assuming you can share beds. Otherwise search for twin rooms - which will give you 2 single beds and should be the same price as double. Trying to put 3 or 4 adults in one room IMHO is not a great idea - since then you're stuck sharing a single bath.

Sorry can;t make specific recos - this is not our price point. but if you search berlow there are a lot of post about budget hotels.

"I will be traveling ... with 4 friends." It sounds like you're a group of 5 people. I would look for an apartment.

Or maybe one of the options at The Bee Hive.

Or a monastery which is a great option for your budget. Good, clean accommodation with an ensuite bathroom.

You will probably have to book a triple and a double. You won't find many rooms for five people. With a budget of 60-75€ per person per night, you should be able to find quite a few places.

What about an apartment for 4? $400 per night is a decent budget. Try www.vrbo.com as a sample.

If I was going with 3 other friends I would much rather split in two rooms and have two bathrooms. Would speed things up in the morning and evenings before going out. For only 3 days I dont think its worth the extra time to check in and out of an apt and the hassle of the security deposit, lack of flexibility for canceling, etc (not to mention the $$$ impact if any of your friends cancel)

Hotel Lancelot used to have quads. You could also try the apartment at Albergo Del Senato, but I think it will $$ too much.
