How large are the balconies at Villa Franca/Miramare Positano?

We are considering both Miramare and Villa Franca for our trip to Positano, leaning toward Villa Franca.

After seeing the pictures of Villa Rosa and it's balconies, I wondered how large balconies are at Villa Franca. Some pictures I've seen of other hotels, the balcony is barely as deep as the chair.

We really would love to have a larger balcony than that. I've enclosed the picure of the Villa Rosa, so maybe someone who has stayed at Villa Franca can tell us if we will be disappointed.

Here's the link:

Also, can anyone still tell us who has stayed there recently if the Villa Franca still has the shuttle bus to/from town?

Maybe you should just contact the Villa Franca and ask them.

I have -

their reply was "Our balcony are small French size with 2 small chairs and a small table"

I thought this board was for travelers to help other travelers...

It's always helpful to hear from people who have actually BEEN there and especially helpful to have the people who have been nice enough to post pictures.

The balconies shown on the Villa Franca web site do not look as large as the Villa Rosa terraces. gt4889 mentioned on his trip report that his room at the Miramare, 209, had a small terrace, but other rooms had larger terraces. When I contacted the Miramare, they offered me room 203 (rate of 230 euro) which they stated has a large terrace.

Hi, Room 210 is suppose to have a huge terrace with 2 lounge chairs , tables. There was a post on Miramare from a couple who had the room on their honeymoon, Try to find it.They said the size was nearly the size of the room, and very private they could sun bathe in the buff if they wanted to.I booked that room after reading the posts. Then qt4889 stayed there and took pictures. He emailed me the pictures and the hotel is in a perfect location about halfway on the hill and painted a reddish color. It was exactly what I was looking for in location. Ask him to email you pictures . He will do so asap. Read his positano trip report. Rosetta
