I am 33. Starting in 1999 we have been coming for a 2 week trip once a year. In September we moved to London with my husband's job and have gone on 5 either long weekend or week-long trips within Europe since then with a couple more scheduled before the end of the summer. Plus we are always in and around London. . . But we are going to visit my sister in Florida next week and I haven't been this excited in years.

Are you serious? You want to be in FLORIDA in the SUMMER? Boy, you must be desperate! It's already 90 in the shade with 100% humidity here!

PS, where am I coming to in Europe?

Our upcoming trip to Croatia in November will mark our seventh trip. Not as many as most, but not bad considering we are still fairly young (I'm 27) and our first trip to Europe was a mere 3 years ago. We average about 2 trips to Europe a year.

Five times.

Once a year since 2002, when I was 33 (and apparently old enough to make the same discoveries others have - Europe isn't for 'rich people' any more than the Caribbean or Mexico or Central America is for "rich people.&quot

Ah, well, better late than never!

GreenDragon-
Yes, I am excited to go to Florida for the warmth/heat as the London winter has been cold and long but more for the American things/lifestyle I cannot have here (although it is only for 10 days.) I want to drive a car, go to Target, eat foods I miss, shop in malls, go to stores that I am familiar with, buy things that cost 1/2 as much as they do here. I have a family of 4 and we will bring 6 empty bags and fill them up with food, clothing, and other items. Plus I am excited to see my sister's new baby and take my small kids to Disney and the beach. 6 DAYS TO GO!!!

kmf, I certainly understand homesickness, but why would anyone want to come into the swamp during summer is beyond me. This is NOT tourist season for a very important reason, people melt!

I remember my first trip to England. It was in the summer of 1996, and I stepped off the plane, luxuriating in the relatively cool temperatures of 75 degrees in the sun. I had left Miami at a sweltering 98 degrees, 100% humidity (hard rain storms every afternoon in the summer). The air was cool, crisp and delightful, even in the Heathrow airport area.

Coming back, after two weeks (even though there was a heatwave, it seemed nice to me as there was little humidity), and stepping off the plane into Miami I felt like I was getting smacked in the face by a hot, wet blanket. The heat and humidity are oppressive, and slow you down.

Now, I'm a cold-weather person. My favorite outside temp is 55-60 degrees. What the heck am I doing in Florida???? My husband likes the heat

I just got back from Paris (4th visit), my 9th trip overall. Started in 1976 at the tender age of 15 and have enjoyed travelling ever since. I think this trip to Paris was my favorite. Never, ever, let anyone tell you the French are rude. They couldn't have been any nicer. Now I get to plan next year's spring break trip.

Seven, first was in 1983 and last was in 2003.

In the last 15 years I've traveled extensively in the USA, before that hardly at all.

In the last 7 years, I've been to 13 USA cities for baseball. And also combined this with long distance driving, road trips. I've found that USA cities and regions can be as varied as European countries can.

Living frugally and near an airport hub, I still find USA travel much less expensive for me than European. It's a luxury that's getting harder and harder to afford for me. And I don't go high end.

seven times now.

I am hoping to do a self-created bike tour, either in Alsace/Mosel/Rhine or in the Rhone Valley for my 50th. Other places "still on the list" - Croatia, Czech Republic, Spain, Italian Alps, French Alps, Scotland, etc, etc, etc. And that's just Europe!

This June will be my 10th time. Ms_go, Allie_go and myself will be going to the South of France (including the Dordogne) this time around.

Full trip reports of our past adventures, with photos, can be found at our web site: onelittleworld.com
