I'm looking quickly for a hotel in Paris around $100 per night for two nights in the Latin Quarter during July. I have to book air &amp; hotel quickly, so I don't have much time to research....any ideas?<BR><BR>I can't remember the hotel I used last time, but it was a block up from Familia. Anyone stayed at Familia lately?<BR><BR>Thanks for any info.<BR>

Another possibility is the Hotel du College de France, at 7 rue Thenard (http://www.hotel-collegedefrance.com). It's clean and quiet, has a (tiny) elevator, and the staff is helpful and speak English. The rooms are small, but no smaller than the rooms in many Paris hotels which are more expensive.

Thanks so much for the replies. I'll look into your suggestions. Does anyone know if it's common or not for hotels to have air-conditioning in summer? Just how hot is Paris in July? Last I went was in April.<BR><BR>Fyi - No, that's not the one. It was located on St. Germain one block up from La Familia at one of the Metro stops (can't remember the stop either). Thanks, though.<BR>

Basically, you'll need a 2-star hotel to get that rate in the Latin Quarter, probably. College de France is a good idea, or the Hotel St Jacques or Christophe. I think the Claude St Bernard has quite a discount in July that makes it close to that, also. <BR><BR>It depends on the category and price of hotel as to whether they tend to have AC. At that price, few will. I think one of the above does, however, maybe the Christophe. It isn't usually that hot in July in Paris (usu around 75-low 80s in afternoon), but it can be on occasion, you never know.<BR>

WE stayed at the Familia in October. Very nice, very clean, very helpful staff, but the absolute smallest room I have ever seen!! (Think picking up the suitcase while standing on the bed so the other person can open the bathroom door!) What I found funniest was that there was a desk, and a chair, but the chair was in the closet, because there was no room to put the chair anywhere near the desk (I just sat on the foot of the bed to use the small desk). <BR><BR>You get what you pay for, and we paid less than 100/night, so can't complain!<BR><BR>Anne

A couple of years ago we stayed at the Hotel Clement in the 6th arr. We found the location to be great and the rooms were thankfully air-conditioned. We had a Junior Suite on the 2nd floor and we could hear the noise from plumbing from the rooms above us occasionally (water running down the pipes). You're welcome, Statia - found the info on http://www.pagesjaunes.fr/pj.cgi. Basically, I typed in the name of the Familia, then looked at the map and the surrounding streets. Typed in just the names of the streets and started looking for hotels (the website will identify each location and what type it is such as hotel, restaurant, laundromat, jewelry store, etc.).
