Is it a long ride??--Nice to Venice???

Was thinking of going to Paris and Venice but found out it was like a 16 hour train ride. So now I've decided Nice and Venice.
but how long will it take??? any must sees in Nice???? Thanks.

Takes about 10 hours on overnight train. It deperts Nice at 9pm and arives Vennice at around 7am.
You can make it in 8 hours during the day with connection in Milan.

The overnight train from Paris isn't that much longer--it leaves at 20:01 and arrives at 8:25. So I'm not sure that's a reason to pick Nice over Paris.

mike,
a few years ago, i took the tgv from paris to lausanne (maybe about 3 hours?), stayed the night there (beautiful little city on lake geneva), then took overnight train from lausanne to venice (i don't think it took more than 8-9 hours?). if you have an extra day to spare, an overnight stop between paris and venice could at least break up the trip into 2 shorter trips.
good luck and happy travels!

Do you suggest to get plane tickets here or purchase them once in France? Thanks.

Good morning, Mike Personally would buy
tickets here for the specific date of
the flite. Have always done this and
have not had a problem other than calling for a reconfirming prior to the
flite. Richard of LaGrange Park, Il..

Hi Mike

Also try Air France's website on Wed's -- the French version. They have specials that are good only for that day (but flights in the future). In other words, if you look Thurs, they're gone.
You'd most likely have to call them in France to order, however everyone I've talked to at Air France speaks English well. And they have tramendous bargains -- incredible.

I've not tried this from the states, so this is just a "what the heck, give it a shot" suggestion -- and tomorrow is Wed!

And Nice? No real "must sees", markets, beach, some museums, but do take a 1/2 day and visit Monte Carlo (20min train from Nice).
